NAE™ Project: Update

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Western Washington State is definitely going to be greener when warm spring weather finally arrives this year. We cannot say when, though. Team NAE™ met on yet another rainy and cold Saturday and went to work on the North American Eagle in preparation for this summer's mid speed test runs.

Present today were:  Tom Tiede, Von Armstrong, Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Chris Greene, Jon Higley, John Drury, Steve Wallace, and John Winchester.

The rather complicated work on the mid wheel ballistic shield and enclosure overlays continued today with Tom Tiede taking the hands on lead as Ed and Keith kept up on progress reports.  Tom returned to a lay out  pattern for rivet locations which were drilled in the aluminum cover panel.  Von, Chris and Ed took turns joining Tom and assisting in the flat on your back riveting process.  It sounds simple but requires some precision planning and placement and...rivets.  The work goes on.

Webmaster Jon Higley spent some lap top computer time in the hangar today... making some needed revisions to our web site.  That is where you are at this moment  on your computer and it would be good to pass the word to all of your friends.  Weekly updates will continue to keep you tuned to our quest for the record breaking land speed of over 800 mph.

Steve Wallace spent very many  hours of home time putting together a compilation of selected video shots in DVD format that are truly amazing. The team was impressed!  Some will be  shown at the upcoming COE 2011 Annual PLM Conference and TechniFair in Orlando next week. When legal requirements are met you may be seeing them on our website and on YouTube.   Ed and Keith are key note  speakers at the conference and will be presenting a very information filled overview of our landspeed project.  That, too, was a subject for discussion around the Lenovo W700 ThinkPad today.

Chris Greene just unveiled his fast ride: A 250 Suzuki motorcycle. The new colors and logos includes a North American Eagle™ graphic. Good luck Chris in the upcoming season!

Ed and Keith will be traveling to Orlando, FL next week to give a presentation at COE 2011 Annual PLM Conference and TechniFair. The two will be keynote speakers on Wednesday. During the conference both of them will be in the iDEX Solutions booth # 318. iDEX is a value added reseller for Dassault Systèmes and sponsor of the North American Eagle™ If you're attending the conference come by and say hello. If you do not know where booth #318 is, just look for the large crowd watching the new Promotional Video edited by Steve Wallace on the plasma screens!

We know a lot of our fans are on facebook.  Now the North American Eagle™ is on facebook!   In fact many of our team members are also!  Tell your friends! It's fun!

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
