NAE™ Project: Update

June 12, 2010

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Another great day in the Pacific Northwest as Mt. Rainier was "out" and looking down on our Saturday work party in Spanaway, Washington.  Present were Steve Wallace, Von Armstrong, Keith Zanghi, Chris Greene and Larry Martinson.

Our guest today was Jerry Hull, a good friend and neighbor of Von and Steve and Libby.

Work continues on the rear axle mounting system.  Keith, Chris and Von lowered the huge jet car off the front wheel block stand to floor level and then the rear axle was removed so that new mounting holes can be drilled. Keith lit up the Central Welding Supply wire feed and began that process.

Steve was busy doing his business with the data acquisition system while Von and Chris talked guest Jerry Hull into helping out with the removal of tiny decals stuck on every surface of the car and its running parts.  More than 500 of them were placed as target points during the digital scanning process by Capture 3D. The special dusting powder and the decals went on before and now must be removed on the way to restoring her former finish.

We're looking forward to the arrival  of our newly tuned jet engine, returning from S&S Turbine Services, Ltd in Fort St. John, B.C. within the next week or so.  With the engine installed and the nose and tail cone put back on, we'll be ready to rumble.

On the Newsstands

If you own a Falcon Business Jet, then you have seen the North American Eagle in the latest issue of Falconer Magazine, Issue 36 / 2010. If you're not lucky enough to own a multi-million dollar business jet, the you can read The Quest To Be The Fastest Car On Earth written by Grant Kielczewski, Managing Editor on line. It features extraordinary photos of our July 2009 test session at The Black Rock Desert, and tells the story of tenacity and resourcefulness as our team challenges the 763 mph world land speed record.
