NAE™ Project: Update

Ladies and Gentlemen:

After two weeks off it was time to get back to work on the North American Eagle™ Austin Waage, Chris Greene, Rich Pengelley, John Winchester, Eric Helpenstell, Steve Wallace, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle were on hand to start the new year off right.

This week the team concentrated on reassembling the front steering box. It was a lesson in role reversals as both Chris and Austin did most of the wrench turning as Steve, Eric, Ed and Keith did all the dirty work of cleaning bolts, and running for tools! By the end of the day all the work was done. This was a great way for these young men to practice their mechanical skills which will last them a lifetime. Next week we will hook up the hydraulic pump and verify everything is working by performing a functional test. Rich spent most of the day under the mid-axle working on some removable panels. In all it was a very productive day.

Earlier in the week, Ron Doll brought by his entire family to tour the Eagle. Ron's mom, dad, and brother flew in from out of town. Ron is part of our aerodynamics team providing Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis on the Eagle.

This Tuesday, Ed Shadle and Keith Zanghi will be traveling to Snohomish Washington to speak at the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Chapter 84. The two will present Challenging The World Land Speed Record at Harvey Field in Monroe WA.

We know a lot of our fans are on facebook.  Now the North American Eagle™ is on facebook!   In fact many of our team members are also!  Tell your friends! It's fun!

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
