Ladies and Gentlemen:

In this update: Magnetic rotor gets a water cooling system: Mobilizer gets a new paint job: And Christmas arrives early at the Eagle Hangar.

Fall weather is definitely here and rain is in our forecast as Team NAE™ arrived at our Spanaway, WA  hangar.  The big red North American Eagle™ is being readied for her trip down to California lake bed country next month.  Test runs are anticipated to be in mid-range 400 to 500mph, weather and conditions permitting.

Hangar guests today were David Cohn and his son Bruce.  David is a long time follower of the project and has been to past test runs...gathering material for a book about our history and progress toward racing for a new land speed record of 800 mph.

Team members today were Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Von Armstrong, Bernard McVay, Steve and Libby Wallace along with 18 month old grandson Jacob, Rich Pengelley, Jon Higley, Chris Greene and John Winchester.  Also dropping by were Brandyn Bayes and dad Doug.  Brandyn is in process of developing and soon bringing a new look to our webpage.

Bernard, Steve and Chris cleared out an unused fuselage compartment and began work on installing a cooling system for the magnetic brakes. As we reach higher speeds, the brake rotors will require cooling independent of air flow.

Rich did some fine repair work on the under fuselage and also assisted Steve in installing the air pressure sensors from Endevco - Meggitt while Von and Chris ground down rust and corrosion from the mobilizer/transporter and gave it a new paint job. A few more things to do before putting the final touches on the mid wheel compartment closure and fairings kept Keith and Bernard busy.

Ed came by a van load full of odds and ends and boxes of goodies, tools and equipment that brought smiles to many faces as it was sorted through and set aside for future use.
