Darren Grove
Aerodynamicist, CFD, & IT specialist

Darren Grove holds a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, and an MS in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey CA. Specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and design, with a strong background in wind tunnel and flight testing, and IT support, he is experienced in subsonic, transonic, and supersonic aerodynamics. Darren has over 18 years experience in CFD technologies and has worked on programs like the F/A-18E/F and Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) for the Naval Air Systems Command, and the Boeing 787, 777, and Open Fan Rotor programs. Currently Darren works within the Product Development group at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, analyzing performance on the next generation of aircrafts.

Darren is one of our virtual team members. Most of his work is done right out of his home. The tools he uses are the HP50g Scientific and Graphing Calculators and Professional-grade Lenovo C20 and D20 ThinkStations computers. They are loaded with the finest engineering and analysis software on the planet! With super powerful Lenovo ThinkStations he is able to run the CFD Solutions necessary to analyze the transonic shock waves being created around the North American Eagle™.

The software he uses is Dassault Systèmes CATIA®, Pointwise CFD Meshing Software, Metacomp's CFD++ as the flow solver and finally puts it in a graphical form using CEI EnSight Gold visualization software.

For precise manipulation of models, Darren uses 3Dconnexion 3D mouse. It is compatible with all of our engineering software tools.
